Electronic surveillance

Security cameras

Security cameras are at the entrances, in the corridors and in the receptions of buildings used by Heilsugæsla höfuðborgarsvæðisins (HH). In addition, there are cameras in several areas outside the buildings, e.g. at parking lots.

Electronic monitoring is important to ensure an overview of the establishments in the event of problems related to the safety and health of HH's employees and/or clients. Electronic monitoring is also part of the effort to protect the property of HH, its employees and clients and to improve security at HH's workplaces in general.

The monitoring is carried out based on HH's legitimate interests in relation to property protection and security, cf. Number 6. Article 9 of no. 90/2018 and point f of paragraph 1. Article 6 of regulation (EU) 2016/679.

When using security cameras, regulation no. 50/2023 on electronic monitoring applies (Icelandic only). No data is collected about individuals and no data is stored for longer than thirty days unless there is a special reason for doing so.

On the Data Protection Authority's website, you can find answers to frequently asked questions about security cameras and the rules that apply to them (Icelandic only). You can also send an inquiry to personuverndarfulltui@heilsugaeslan.is.

Security cameras operated by HH are located outside at these locations:

  • Geðheilsuteymi suður
  • Heilsugæslan Hlíðum
  • Heilsugæslan Efra-Breiðholti
  • Heilsugæslan Efstaleiti
