Vaccination schedule - Week 25

Mynd af frétt Vaccination schedule - Week 25
18.06.2021

The following vaccinations in Laugardalshöll have been planned for week 25. The news will be updated with more information after the plans become clearer. (Updated June 23)

We direct you to Frequently asked questions about vaccination arrangements. Look for answers there before contacting the health care centre. The phone lines are very busy.

  • Tuesday 22 June is Janssen vaccination. Randomised birth-year cohorts will continue to be vaccinated. An SMS invitation will be sent to those who are offered a vaccination that day.
    Vaccination will take place from 9:00 to 14:00. Invited: men 1990, 1991, 1995, 1998 and women 1985, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1995, 1999.
After 12:00, everybody can come to be vaccinated while supplies last. This will be the last scheduled day before summer holidays that Janssen is offered.
  • Wednesday 23 June is Pfizer vaccination. That will be second shots as well as randomised birth-year cohorts. Vaccination will take place from 9:00 to 15:00.
Young people born in 2005 will receive an invitation for that day. Those who do not receive an SMS because their phone number is not registered can inquire on my pages on heilsuvera.is when they should come. Encourage the young people around you born in 2005 to check on this. Also invited: men 1980, 1989 and women 1987, 1994.

After 15:00, everybody can come to get vaccinated while supplies last. This will be the last day before summer holidays that people can get their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
  • The AstraZeneca vaccination that was supposed be on Thursday 24 June is postponed until next week.

In week 26 there will be an AstraZeneca vaccination day (subject to timely reception of the vaccines). This will only be for second jabs. More information about who receives an invitation and the plan will be posted here later.

Vaccination is offered this week for:

  • those who receive an SMS invitation to show up on one of these days
  • those with an Icelandic social security number (kennitala) who belong to a birth-year cohort receiving an invitation this week

Those who could not make it to the vaccination site when they/their group received an invitation can show up after certain times, see the schedule. Those vaccinations will take place while supplies last.

  • those born 1975 or earlier
  • those who belong to a group that has received an invitation
  • those who received an invitation but did not use it

It is not possible to show up for a different vaccine than the one you were offered. In late summer there will be vaccination days when it is possible to choose a specific vaccine.
Those who receive an invitation but can’t make it can show up the next time that vaccine is being offered. Do not ask us to move you up in the queue. We cannot do that. See Vaccination order

Young people born in 2003, 2004 and 2005 are not allowed to receive Janssen due to age restrictions. They have been offered Pfizer.

All AstraZeneca vaccines received are used to give second doses. Those who received an invitation for a first dose of AstraZeneca but could not use it will be offered a different vaccine.

Procedures at the vaccination site

Everyone is asked to show up with identification and we remind you that masks are required at the vaccination site. The injection site is in the upper arm and in public places. It is a good idea to wear a t-shirt under your clothes. Everyone must wait at the vaccination site approximately 15 minutes after the vaccine is given.

Questions

If you have questions about the procedures we direct you to Frequently asked questions about vaccination arrangements
If you have questions about vaccinations and health conditions, we direct you to the online chat on heilsuvera.is.
We also point out detailed information about vaccination, vaccines and side-effects at covid.is/covid-19-vaccine.

Declining vaccinations

If you wish to refuse vaccination altogether regardless of the vaccine type, send your name and Icelandic social security number (kennitala) to bolusetning@heilsugaeslan.is. No questions are answered at this email address. It is possible that some people who have refused vaccination altogether will receive an invitation to be vaccinated, and in that case those people can just ignore the invitation and not show up; they don’t have to notify anyone.
